Being a quest on this daily video podcast on YouTube was great way to wake myself up in the morning, for I do keep odd hours. On the show, us 50 something males of African descent discussed live the challenges of growing up being "black" AND a nerd in the 70s and 80s, how science fiction, fantasy and the superhero genres has been a tool for telling diverse stories, including how those stories affected, uplifted or degraded the African American experience, and delved into what we thought was proper representation and what that means to the “black” community. We also discussed why I wrote my first, hard science fiction novel, 'A RELIVING OF EARTH AND PAIN - VOLUME ONE.'
